Purpose of the Competition<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Through this Korean Speech Contest, we aim to cultivate students\u2019 logical thinking and oral expression skills, enabling them to express their personal views actively and clearly. In conjunction with the Korean Language Program, this competition also encourages students to apply their Korean language skills, thereby enhancing learning motivation and effectiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Organizers<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>College of Liberal Arts, National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Center for Korean Studies, NTNU<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Korean Studies Promotion Project, NTNU<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Speech Topics<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants must choose one of the following four topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Personal academic or professional field<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Issues in multiculturalism<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Campus life<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other Korea-related topics<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. Eligibility<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Individual registration only.<br>Open to current students of the NTU System universities (NTNU, National Taiwan University, and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology) who are <strong>non-native Korean speakers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. Schedule<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Preliminary submission deadline:<\/strong> Friday, April 18, 2025, by 17:00<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Finalist announcement:<\/strong> Wednesday, April 30, 2025, by 17:00<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Final round:<\/strong> Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 18:30<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>6. Venue<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>B1 Conference Room, National Taiwan Normal University<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>7. Please prepare your script before submitting the form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>8. Evaluation Process<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Judging Panel:<\/strong> Experts invited by the organizing units<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Competition Format:<\/strong> Two-stage competition: Preliminary Round &amp; Final Round<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Preliminary Round Evaluation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Judges will review all submitted scripts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Qualified participants will be assigned to Group A or Group B for the final round.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All finalists will receive a certificate of qualification.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Final Round Evaluation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Finalists must attend and present their speech in person on the event day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Judges will score based on performance; rankings may be withheld if standards are not met.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Scoring Criteria:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Content<\/strong> (relevance, appeal, vocabulary, structure): 50%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Korean language skills<\/strong> (pronunciation, intonation, fluency): 30%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Stage presence &amp; body language<\/strong>: 20%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>9. Competition Rules<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants should thoroughly research and understand their chosen topic, and present it in clear, accessible Korean within the time limit. The speech should clearly communicate the importance, key points, and the speaker\u2019s personal insights to a broad audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Preliminary Round (Complete both steps):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Prepare a speech manuscript. Title format:<br><strong>Korean Speech Contest_Preliminary_Student ID_Name_Topic<\/strong><br>Example: Korean Speech Contest_Preliminary_40000000E_Wang Da-Ming_My Life as an Exchange Student in Korea<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upload the script when submitting the registration form.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Final Round:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Topic must remain the same as the preliminary round.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No self-introduction needed at the start.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Group A Finalists:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Time limit:<\/strong> 5 minutes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Timing signals:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>4:30 \u2192 One bell<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5:00 \u2192 Two bells<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5:30 \u2192 Three bells (speech must end immediately)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Penalties:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Under 4:30 or over 5:30 \u2192 <strong>5-point deduction<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Group B Finalists:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Time limit:<\/strong> 3 minutes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Timing signals:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>3:00 \u2192 One bell<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4:00 \u2192 Two bells<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5:00 \u2192 Three bells (speech must end immediately)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Penalties:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Under 3:00 or over 5:30 \u2192 <strong>5-point deduction<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> Contestants not on stage after being called <strong>twice<\/strong> will be considered to have forfeited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>10. Awards<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Preliminary Round:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Certificate of Qualification for all finalists<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Final Round Awards:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Group A:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1st Place: NT$8,000 + certificate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2nd Place: NT$5,000 + certificate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3rd Place: NT$3,000 + certificate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Group B:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1st Place: NT$5,000 + certificate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2nd Place: NT$3,000 + certificate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3rd Place: NT$2,000 + certificate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u203b Awards may be withheld if no participant meets the judging criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>11.
